Slide help.
I need an M1911 to complete my MGS kit. Thought about a USP AEP, but the fixed slide and wrong light really put me off. Anyway, since I don't plan on using the sidearm much, I was going to go with the TM Springer. An M1911 goes well with the shotgun, I think. I just wanted to know if anyone's ever tried putting a different slide on the springer. Or is anyone can identify this slide: http://img.gkblogger.com/blog/imgdb/.../041/235_2.JPG
EDIT: Now changed into a general MGS thread. Last edited by ProbeJax; January 28th, 2008 at 19:08.. |

Metal Gear Solid. Specifically, the M1911 I'm now trying to create is the one from MGS3. Also been trying to construct a croc hat out of raw material. Not going so well.

Hahaha, Saint. Everytime I say anything about an m1911 or variant, you show up.

You can't change the slide on a springer, I'm pretty sure.

I was wondering if you could. I suppose I could always go Portable Ops M1911...either way, the slide would cost more then the gun itself, I think.

just get a TM and use it. you never know when you will need your sidearm. dont rely on a springer, get a GBB TM. Its a great pistol, ive seen it shoot farther then some AEGs. you can get a full metal upgrade kit for it (slide and lower receiver)

's the thing, I already have two seperate M9s. One's the Maurshin blank firing prop gun, the other's a GBB. I've already got the GBB ready as my other MGS2 sidearm (Just need a silencer). I don't really feel the need for another GBB. Though I guess it's also an option...does anyone know about the slide changing for sure, or the name of that slide on the MGS3 second part M1911?

Well, I'm pretty sure no company makes that kind of Kimber, so I'm going to have to buy and custom build.

TM 1911 with the Nova kit and source that grip from eBay and you'll get pretty close, and pretty expensive...
btw, the first pic you post is a commander-type 1911, with 4.5 inch(or 4.3) barrel and shorter slide than a regular 1911... |
