Check for compression,

Check for the mechbox seating up against the hopup properly..

And other air leaks.

"Questions / Symptoms:
- How to check compression? Is mine ok?
- I've poor / inconsistent FPS results"

Well, First you must take apart your Mechbox, but leave your cylender set in it. The, what you do is you take one of your fingers and put it over your air nosel. When you do that, you want to pull your piston backwards (but not all the way out) and push it in at a medium speed and force.

If your pistion goes in fast and easy, you have a low compression, and if it goes in slow and hard, you have a good compression. If Im leaving anything out, please let me know.

sorry man.

also jesster202, this might apply to you:
If the o ring seem too small to create compression even after you lightly lubed the inner cylinder wall, I stretched my new oring by using my fingers and using it like an elastic band. Enough to stretch it a bit but not overstretch or damage it. Then I had great compression.

Motor and battery never affect FPS.

Unfortunetly if your lacking in the know how to resolve the issue, your only other issue would be to find a gun doc. It is somewhat difficult to know if something is broken when its possible that you dont know how it is spose to look like in the first place. I mean no offence by this, but its better to have someone else who knows check it out rather than bugger something else up.

If your daring, I would recommend mechbox.com as well as the other links and methods that have been suggested.

Best wishes.

What kind of box? My stock Marui guns when shooting 240-300 (depending on gun and BB weight) would pierce thin cardboard, but not the double-layered or heavy stuff. Some cardboard only the M150 in my PTW will pierce, not the M130 or lower.

The stock mechbox for me was somewhere in the 385-395 area.

Currently I have a stock TM spring install so its FPS will be much lower.
However the ROF is through the cieling.

Why dont you try and do the pop can test with your gun. Tell us what happens.
