3-round burst MOSFET

I was doing some research on different control mechanisms for AEGs and I stumbled across this:

It's a MOSFET computer control circuit for AEG's. Kindof an interesting little device:

Specifications:
Size = 2 x 0.55 x 0.35 inches
Voltage = 8 to 16 VDC
Peak Current = 250 Amps
RMS Current = 30 Amps

Features:
1. Fully computer controlled MOSFET switching with Active Breaking.
2. Full electronic over current, voltage, and temperature monitoring, and protection.
3. Normal, 3-Round Burst, and Semi-Only operation.
4. Automatic 3-round burst to full auto operation after trigger is held for 1/2 second.
5. Full PWM motor speed control.
6. Soft Start to reduce motor and drive train wear.
7. Very low trigger switch current (~10mA).
8. Self diagnostics at power-up and during operation.
9. Mode, Burst Time, and Motor Speed are programmed via trigger pulls.
10. Low sound level motor vibration is used to signal the user.
11. Fits in present fuse holder space and replaces old fuse with high speed electronic monitoring.
12. All wires supplied and attached to the PC board.
13. Software can be upgraded by the user with a chip swap.
14. The design is fully open source to allow Third Party support.

I know Pro-Arms has a 3-round burst MOSFET, but this one seems far more versitile (not to mention cheaper). Might be worth taking a look at. Anyone else heard anything about these?

I've been following this thread since Gandolf r started it a while back. AEG computer http://forums.airsoftmechanics.com/i...p?topic=648.60

It looks great to me but I'm waiting a bit longer to see if anyone reports of unforseen problems before I order. Only a crimped wire and some people wanting modified programs were the issues I saw. Also others in that thread are building their own versions and I want to see what they come up with in case it has a feature/s that is not in Gandolfs.

Thanks for the link. If these little puppies turn out to be working well, I may be dropping one in my G36 before the end of the summer.

Check out the link below, Its a video of a gun installed with the SW-Computer. Excellent product. I have one in my VFC 416 and love it.

I have been working in close communication with Gandolf and have finished some boards that are plug and play with the SW-COMPUTER to give better battery monitoring for NiCD/NiMH as well as individual cell monitoring of LiPO packs

these boards can also be used with other MOSFET's but I haven't quite gotten the reliability as high as I want it so I am not exactly advertising my work... yet

basically, my boards make sure you don't drive the voltage of the packs too low, for LiPO's this is an instant no recharge cell killer, for conventional packs it can lead to inability to fully recharge as well as diminished lifetimes

I'm in the process of doing a small production run based off of these units here in Canada. (I do PCB work and microcontroller programming.) I was working on my own AEG fire control computer, but the extreme-fire units are much further along and make a much better hardware base.

If anyone's interested, fire me a PM and I should be able to hook you up with one (made in Canada, so no cross-border nonsense).

I'm still looking for a couple more people to get in so so that the small production run is worth it.

EDIT: I'm going ahead right now, got 90% of the parts -- just waiting on a couple backordered components.

I can also vouch for the SW-computer, I did some of the preproduction beta testing. The little board just works grate.

I have just installed an Extreme-Fire SW Computer in my G3/SG1 and it seems to work well. I haven't had any problems yet.
