WGC Transaction Problem
Hello there,
I recently ordered two WE1911 magazines and a bag of BBs from WGC Shop. The total came to $85.65 USD shipping included. I chose to pay bank-to-bank transfer. I completed the transaction and thought everything was good. Then I got an e-mail from them saying that I only paid $65.65. They said that my bank deducted $20 USD as a bank fee. However, I looked at my receipt and I already paid the bank fee. WGC asked for more money and I told them no. I also e-mailed them a copy of my transaction receipt. I still have not received a reply from them. I can't talk to the people at the bank because they claim they are not responsible if anything goes wrong with the transaction. I am pretty pissed off now because these two magazines are starting to cost me a lot of f@#$ing money. I would really appreciate some feedback on this issue:banghead: |

The receiving bank usually charges the account holder $20 USD for international transfers, at least the banks I've dealt with in Asia anyway. WGC's payment policy says you have to cover all fees involved in the transfer.
So i guess until you pay them they're not gonna ship out your stuff. |

WGC is with HSBC. I am with TD. WGC said that MY bank deducted the money, not theirs. The issue is that I have already paid the handling fee. If there was an additional fee, I am sure the bank would have said something.

Your bank charges you a fee to send the transfer.
The receiving bank charges WGC a fee to receive the transfer into their account. You have to pay both fees according to WGC payment policy. You've only paid one. |

Wow. No way I will be using wire service again. Considering that it takes 7 days to transfer money from a checking account to paypal, it is definitely worth the wait lol
I only used wire because it was faster. |

I find WGC and Redwolf to have much higher prices, and it's kind of a rip off. |

You need to talk to your bank again and have them read to you the guidelines on sending international money wires.
Not only is there a bank fee charged to you by YOUR bank, but there is also an ACCEPTANCE fee by the receiving bank. The amount is unknown by your bank, and as a result, the receiving bank assumes that the amount that is sent by your home bank includes their fee. IT IS *YOUR* RESPONSIBILITY to include the acceptance fee in to the final amount. |

Yeah eHobby definitely has better deals. No more wire service for me. I hope that other people including newcomers read this thread and don't make the same mistake I did.

Avoid Bank to bank transfers (AKA TELEX). They are generally only really used in large commercial transaction in the 10's of thousands of dollars. Paypal of CC is the way to go. If there are disputes you can get your money back.
Keep all of your emails. If a retailers promises you a refund in an email but doesnt follow through. that's enough evidence to have a credit card payment reversed by the bank. |
