stripped motor mount
After upgrading my Sig 552, i accidently stripped the metal motor mount. This the the piece that is attached to the gearbox, that you screw your handgrip into, then place the motor into the handgrip.
Anyone know where i can get one of these parts? It wasnt so bad at first, but after gaming it a few times, the grip is getting slack and im afraid the other screw might give and rip the whole motor/ handgrip off. Thats the part, its silver in color, and its mounted right onto the gearbox.

maybe try getting a slightly larger diameter self tapping screws.
or if you have room, use 2.5mm dia bolts with nuts. just insert the bolt from the inside with the threading pointing out, then put the nut on and tighten. you can then mark and trim off any extra length of the bolt so it wont stick out into the motor grip.

Just reviving this thread to report that the final screw did strip and the grip came off. Oh noes!!
If this happens to anyone else, its an easy fix, as the metal mount in the picture can be tapped one size larger and take wider screws. just make sure they are the correct length. |

about getting new parts, try contacting the manufacturer, they will normally sell you almost anything you need

Thats good to know, is there enough meat left in the metal to ensure it won't strip again?
