Searching for a damn metric screw...

Been searching for 2 weeks now and cant find a metric screw For my modstock.

I need a Slot or phillip drive 4.8 steel zinc plated "M5, 0.8mm pitch, 80 or 90mm long" screw. The only place i did find them is SPEANAUR but they wont sell them unless i buy a box of 50 wich cost over 50$...

Anybody know where i can get them in Montreal?

Thanks

If you've got a Fuller Metric out there it's a good place to start, also look for places around the airport that sell tools and hardware, or places that build race cars (not hang light kits on Supras), motorcycles etc.

Thanks again Danke; will surely try them. Was hoping to get some 90mm one (to be sure it will fit) to but they dont have them.

Will try ordering some 80mm pan head (they dont have them in the phillip flat head... only 70mm)

I did try some honda and suzuki dealership but the longest one they have is 45mm...

try visque and reliable too, their side by side over by Action Commando, Spaenaur should have given you small quantities, otherwise try Anda or Brighton Best (though they usually stay with socket set products). It really shouldn't be difficult to find an M5 just in that 90mm length.
Have you tried seeing if er I think it'll be a 10-32 screw can be threaded? (Sometimes you can switch to imperial, just don't force it) as a substitute. If you need a Flat head, instead of machine screws you can try for flat socket screws, same thread, slightly larger head dia. A pan's head dia might not sit in what your threading it into..

Thanks C.G; I might try a 10-32 before trying to order.

np. you just want something with a smaller thread pitch.. I can't tell you off hand though, im possitive it would be a 10-32, there are also 10-24's threads more coarse.. if the mfg's done a shitty job on threading (i've found that with some guns) you can substitute, it might feel a bit lose to start but thread locker and just tightening it in works too if your all outta options.
Again though if and when you call around and you ask, and they dont have flat machine screws in that size, inquire about flat socket cap screws..
good luck

Metric screw

Hey, get a hold of this, I used to work at Spaenaur and if you call and tell them you have a potential application requiring many thousands of these if they do the work; they will send them to you a samples - yes no charge, not even for shipping.
