Separating P90 body halves
I've read that the back of the TM p90's body is glued together, whereas the front section is held together by screws and pins. To dissolve other glued airsoft products (like a flash-hider that was glued on or something), I've put it in boiling water for a few minutes. I don't think I have a pot big enough to put the entire p90 body into, however...
I've removed every part, including trigger assembly and such, so that only the plastic body is left. Has anybody managed to get the two halves apart without taking a hacksaw to it? |

It's a longshot because it's already sealed, but you could try heating it up a little and using adhesive remover. That's all I can suggest.

agreed with w0lf, try using an adhesive remover, tends to work, although I don't think there are that many people who have ever successfully taken apart the 2 halves of a p90 before without destroying some parts.

Mind me asking, why do you want to do this?

Hey, thank you all for your input.
Styrak - I'm messing around with a couple of different ideas on quieting an AEG. I know it's been discussed to death, and I've gotten a lot of the information from this board itself. It's just that it would be much easier to both apply and remove any sort of dampening material if I didn't have to just wedge my hand in the mechbox compartment. I can get by without it, it's just kind of a laborious pain. I'll try to get my hands on some debonder from a hobby store, I'd assume that they'd have one that won't melt the ABS plastic. |
