TM FAMAS FPS updrade question...

Hi all!

My freind has a TM FAMAS which shoots very nice but
he only gets 240FPS.

What upgrades can be done?

Can a P90 mechbox be used in this?

Any help apreciated!

Thanks.

a p90 mechbox will not work, since a p90 uses a version 6 gearbox and a Famas uses an old version 1 gearbox.

Basic upgrade:
New metal bushing
M100 spring

The V1 mechbox is very limited for upgrade. I usually push it safely to 340 with few tweekings.

v1 mechbox is completely upgradable :P people needa do more research. You can easily get the mech box pushing an m120 spring. most 6mm bushings will fit but need some work because they are slightly larger then the v1 mechbox. I also heard that echo1's bushings are slightly smaller aswell so you might wanna give those a try. If you want a lot of detailed help you will want to talk to Boba_Fett on arnies airsoft. He will have any information you need on a v1 gearbox including modifying the gear box to add in a new motor. It is relatively easy to work on. I also have a famas with an m120 spring and new gears and piston and piston head. I plan on adding in a barring spring buide and maybe a new cylinder aswell as a hop up and new inner barrel

V1 use 6mm bushing. But the dremel still your best friend.

- TM 472mm Tightbore 6.04
- Metal Bushing 6mm
- Guarder piston
- Guarder vented piston head
- Prometheus nozzle
- PDI 150% spring
- And some minor modding

Bearing spring guides for V1 are hard to find but you can use a V2 guide and nip off the tangs and use a screw in the end to keep the guide located.

trust me I've read up alot of the famas, (days worth of reading and I'm still going) From what I've heard for gears, most fit with the exception of one odd gear due to ratio not sure about this, and spring guide and motor everything else people tell me fits. Wait the guy got like an eg1000 in there?

Two strips of normal tape along the forgrip where it contacts the plastic body eleminates 90% of the creak. The other 10% can be eliminated by removing the pistol grip and placing tape around the mounting point on the body where the plastic grip contacts the body. I completely, 100% elmininated the creak on my FA-MAS when I did that.

Hi! I'm trying to put back a V1 famas gearbox which a friend gave me. The mechbox was already opened and im not quite sure if theres an anti reversal latch in a v1 gearbox. If any of you guys can give me a link on how to assemble and disassemble a V1 gearbox that would be great! Thanks!
