increase torque in a V.7 mechbox
How is the "G&P Ver.7 Gearbox Super Torque Up Spur Gear" any different than the stock gear? Its compatible with stock mauri gears so if that was the case it should have the same number of teeth as the rest of the gears.
Since im running ~400fps with my m14, what kind of gearing should i be running with a stock TM motor and 8.4V 3600mah? I dont want to prematurely wear out anything and it has about 1 second trigger lag right now... |

Actually it has a different number of teeth. Marui compatible means that they are the right dimensions to fit in the gearbox.
Torque up gears usually come in sets so that you get all the ratios correct. Basically: highspeed gears = fast RoF and quicker trigger response torque up gears = lower RoF but allow for more powerful springs. Under MAA rules a fully auto AEG can't be more than 400fps, under those rules you don't really need torque ups. I use them to intentionally reduce the RoF in my FAL. It really depends what you want to do.

I would have replaced all the gears
The trouble with replacing just the 1 is now you have different quality metal in there G&P Stock metal and TM Pot-metal (no doubt smelted from Chinese pots and pans, thank you chairman Mao) which totally changes the rate at which the gears wear down.
