Oh god, serious fuckup with V2
Well, I decided that upgrading my shitty Well V2 would be cheaper than purchasing a new gearbox. So I slap in an upgraded piston, piston head, spring guide, bushings and anti-reversal latch. So I slap together the whole thing and test it in an MP5 lower. It seemed to work fine on semi and full auto so I decided to install it into my MP5. I install it into my MP5 and assemble the whole thing. I put in a battery in and I pull the trigger and nothing... Assuming that there is a break in the wiring, I pull out a continuity meter and it seems to be working fine. I slap in another battery and nothing again. There's only a faint hum from the motor as if it was stalled. I pull the motor out and it works fine. Now my attention is on the gearbox. After opening it up, I see that the piston has been pulled back almost all the way. I use a screwdriver and push the piston backwards and suddenly the Anti-reversal latch kicks in. Now the piston is stuck all the way back.
Now my question, how could I release the piston? Should I use a piece of wire to pull back the AR latch from the bottom while pressing on the piston head to relieve pressure on the gears? How can I open the gearbox without getting smacked by flying parts? The timing of the gears is probably to blame for this dilemma. any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Remove the motor and trip the anti-reversal latch.

There's no such thing as "timing"...as long as the nub on the sector gear is in front of the tappet plate fin, you're good to go.
Either reach through the motor hole and pry the AR latch to release the piston or if it seems like it wants to go and just can't, and your mechbox shell has cutouts like the M4 style...then squeeze the piston firmly with one hand and trigger the motor with the other (like a pulling a sling shot). Warning: it's hard on the fingertips and a bit scary the first couple of times...I did it at the AEG Workshop to unlock a guy's mechbox, but none of the guys would try it the next time....LOL |

Easiest way I've found to decock a stuck mechbox is to push a screwdriver up the nozzle. A flathead that is about 4mm in diameter can bear against the piston head and turn the sector gear over. Push it all the way back and it'll release from the sector.
Be sure of the following: -piston head has a nylon front that won't be significantly damaged (i.e. not a rubber silent piston head) -do not let the screwdriver head skid on the piston face and scratch the cylinder
