Painting a rifle..

ok, i wish to paint my L96.
i have a few questions (probably noobish so beware)

i have some cans of "ultra-flat" Krylon spray paint.
-can i use that to pain the rifle?

also do i need to take the gun apart and gut it before i paint it.

thanks for your time.

also i am painting in cadpat (i know how kinda) so any suggestions on that would be nice..

God damn, there is a search feature, USE IT.
I've seen three 'painting gun' threads in the last few weeks, if you took the time for look for them, you wouldnt be wasting this tiny bit of forum space.

Krylon works, any paint works as long as it doesnt reflect the sun, which is very exposing.

Be sure to clean your rifle, sand and prime it, and apply in small layers, Take your time with it. After you're done, let it sit in a warm place undisturbed for a week so the paint can settle in.

(edit: For cadpat. Use painters tape and a fine exactoknife to create a stencil.)

This was done with paper stencils. Not worth the time.

Yea man, strip it down and tape off any areas you don't want painted. That way you don't get any paint on the important moving parts. Make sure you use primer first and don't rush it.

Ive Camo Painted most of my Assault rifles and Pistols as well as other peoples guns as well. I only ever use Kralon Camo Spraypaint, for its made to bond to ur weapon better. also a good idea is make sure u have ur camo design in ur head or have a photo with it beside u, and test out doing the camo on a piece of wood before u do it on ur weapon. Good luck
