Yes, Its plastic, Metal gears dont mean a thing, Just makes the plastic shell break easier. If you're buying that gun, It looks like trash, Dont bother.

thats not even the gearbox dude. thats the hop-up unit that connects to the barrel. Is that an M4A1? And from what i can see that its plastic.

The dust cover's plastic. That's the most telling aspect... if they can't even throw in a metal dust cover, the gun is worthless.

I'd wager that the two screws and the dust cover pin and spring are the only things metal in that picture. I would stay far far away from that gun.

even if the gearbox can be replaced like in the case of a Crosman g3 it'll cost around the same price as the gun.

It might be, but without knowing the type of gun, we can't say.

I'll echo what other people have said though -judging by that picture, even if a metal mechbox will fit, it will probably cost more than the gun itself.
