KJW P229 slide release lever

My P229s slide release lever doesn't want to turn. It will move about a quarter of the sweep. But it won't unlock. So I can't remove the slide.
I have tried wiggling it while trying to turn the lever. No go. I don't want to force it too hard and break something. Also lubed it with silcone spray, and just won't release.:banghead: Any way to help it release? insert a pin somewhere??

EDIT: After an hour or so of jiggling and wiggling, lubricating, and swearing, and finally after giving it a really good push. (hoping I wouldn't break or strip anything,) It finally released. Greased the shit out of it. It's working ok now, a little grabby, but I will have to keep that lever very well lubed so it does not jam up again.
