The Parts B&S section. Depending on the make your after, will define the price.
Dboys($100+) G&P($225) KA($250+). Thats a ballpark price. |

Oh, thanks guys, but that seems pretty expensive. If i were to just spray paint the clear part on the gun i'm thinking of getting (M4 special Operations) what paint would match the black on the rest of the gun?

That's easy. Spray the whole gun. :P

Well, i wouldn't want to ruin the stock color because I like the look a lot, and I'm not the best painter. I've seen a lot of things about krylon paint, and i have a can of green, but i would get black. The only problem is, is the flat black from krylon look exactly like the normal color of the metal components so you can't tell the difference?

EDIT: I'll elaborate on why the paint won't match (aside from the exact shade of black, and gloss). The plastic on the gun is not painted, it is the colour of the plastic. When you paint a gun, the paint will wear eventually and the under colours will show through. When you wear on plastic, it just wears, but the colour stays true.

The gun I'm playing on acquiring is the Well M4 Special Operations from Huang. Its all metal except the upper and lower receiver, and i would be too hesitant to paint the whole thing, so I'm not sure what to do, and I'm going to keep the gun black for a while as least to see how i like it.

keep your eyes open for all black plastic receivers then, often guys just want to unload at a decent price once they have a metal body to replace it.

Ah, but that still wouldn't look the same color as the rest of the metal parts would it? And how much would you think that would be?

I've seen plastic bodies go from $10 to $60. Depends on the brand, quality, condition, painted/unpainted, broken etc...

So basically, if I understand, i'd be buying the same thing i would have, but painted and it still wouldn't match? Or would it?
|

Well of course it might not match, not every company uses the same dye with their plastics, but it won't likely be a painted plastic body, it will be a plastic dyed body. Like the way your upper receiver on those Well M4's are black but not painted.
