9.6v in a CA m4?
So i roasted my powerizer 1200mah battery *sigh*. I have a Classic Army M15a4 Carbine, and i've been doing some research for a couple of hours and would like to know what you guys think. Should i buy another 8.4v or move up to an 9.6 (the powerizer was my first battery, so I didn't really care what brand or power it was so long as it made my new gun shoot ; now that i've had it for a while i'd like to get a REAL battery).
Thanks alot guys for your patience. -Brett

borrow someones 9.6v and try it out to see if you like the difference.
I have both batteries but unfortunatly the 9.6v does not fit into my m4's stock without modification... so I just use it in my AK-47.

I know i will like it because of the better trigger response and ROF, the point of my question was is it worth the extra wear (there will be more wear right?)?

Are you saying "most likely it will be worth it because the 9.6v allows the gun to hava a hight ROF" or "Most likely it will cause more wear because the 9.6v allows the gun to have a higher ROF" or both?

I've got a CA M4 and it's been running strong for probably 50k+ (conservative estimate) rounds on stock gears and even the stock piston. It's been upgraded most of its life and running mostly on a 9.6v battery and sometimes even on a 10.8v. I upgraded a buddies TM p90 with only a new spring and bushings and it shot 380fps and he ran it off a 11.1v lipo!
Obviously running things harder and faster causes wear faster, no way around that. If the upgrades and work is done properly you should get lots of use out of higher voltage guns. Now you might have constant bad luck with parts slightly out of spec, etc and things will just break with whatever you use. Proper trigger control is crucial also to your gun. Emptying a mag in one burst is definately trouble waiting to happen. I try to limit my bursts to 2-3 seconds max. Pretty much most of my team uses 9.6v and there's a handful of us using 11.1v lipos. I don't fear the voltage myth no longer! So yes, definately go for a 9.6v. You'll like the extra ROF and snappier trigger response.

I have only run a 9.6 in my CA M4 and have had no problems and have run a 9.6 in my ICS M4 for over 20,000 rnds. and still going strong.
