there is no preference for me. they are just too different to compare.
most times, it's winter indoors and spring/summer/fall outdoors.

outdoors allows for greater range. you can hide and hope your camouflage matches your terrain. you can also stand just outside of your opponents gun range and wait for them to get up and move towards you.

indoor is all about close quarter battles. it's a much faster game. less hiding and camping out since your enemy is closer to you.

as said, they are two different animals, personally I've played alot of indoor but the outdoor games are way more fun for me as you sneak around more due to having a bigger space to play in.

Indoors is alot more tactical and it allows me to use pistol to sneak up on people n pop them

I can't say I like one better than the other. I like them both equally, but for different reasons.

Indoors

No question.. Why? because at ranges typically seen in indoor play airsoft guns are actually very good simulators for real firearms.. What you would do with a real gun pretty much works with an airsoft gun within 15 m

This is not true for outdoor play... Engagement ranges are 10 times shorter .. grass is effective cover .. and people can "buzz" around outside your effective range in plain sight.

Sure its a fun game... but its a poor simulation of firearm combat for the most part ..

Outdoor for sure.

The variety of terrain/obstacles is unsurpassed. The unpredictable nature of weather adds an exciting dimension. Using all the hardcore gear I pay so much for. To hear the crickets, distant yells from a fire fight... it all culminates in a far more realistic MilSim experience for me.

Agree with all of that.. Outdoor is great .. but for different reasons.. It can be an immersive experence... and it can also be a challenging leadership task..

As a simulation for firearm combat.... lacking... As an excuse to spend the day in the forest in the company of friends geared up to the tits... Golden

Okay, so maybe it is a good time to ask my question in this thread. Personally, I have only been to a couple of airsoft games and both of my experiences were played indoors at Area 51. From the fast paced action, to the realism of the players equipment and weapons, the experiences were truly breathtaking and swept me off my feet. Heck, the guns even sounded great indoors When I'm 18 and get age-verified on this site, I wish to play a game of airsoft outdoors sometime.

But now I'm concerned. Brain had clearly stated that the outdoor games are different. Don't get me wrong, I know that an airsoft experience outdoors will have shorter engagement ranges and BB's won't be all that accurate, but is it noticeable to a degree that the majority of the realism is lost? I hate that feeling where you see an enemy but you know you can't hit him because of the weather (wind) or he is out of range for example.

Is the experience outdoors just right? Or can it use airsoft guns with higher velocities in your opinion? (Over 350-400 FPS)

Thank you

My question is why is this in the newbie tank? This is a poll and does not belong here.

i prefer outdoor because theyre is a lot more variation, you can use wind ,weather and so on...

Indoor are sometime more realistic because of range of engagement but that's it.. window stop bullet and the building after 30 min is still the same

I've played nothing but outdoors in my first year of airsoft. Our playing fields in kelowna are on crown land with tons of area to cover. I learned quickly about how to use your camouflage in certain areas of the forest terrain.

In Penticton (Hardcorps field, check the games, and future vids on zombie missions on youtube), where a good 2/3 of the playing area is CQB in a man made village. It has the same feel as indoor, but you are able to flank on hillsides or deep grass swamps.

Personally, outdoors is where its at. It requires lots of tactical teamwork and communication to achieve victory or complete a mission.

I have had kills from at least 150ft, so ignore the fact that it is impossible or difficult to get a kill from 50ft+. Your AEG is just a tool, being a smart and patient player has the same rewards as having a stock gun compared to an upgraded AEG. Some AEGs are extremely accurate when properly tuned and used by experienced airsofters, but once again, the skill level and experience plays a major role in succeding in airsoft.

We maintain a 10ft mercy rule for any bb gun, and prohibit sniper rifles with 430fps+ to a safe distance for kills. Otherwise its their sidearm or secondary.

In conclusion, you have to experience both to respect their difference in playing styles for the required situation. And then you can decide for yourself which is more enjoyable to you. But I guarantee that you will enjoy both!

cheers!
