Wich spring I can put in this clearsoft
Hi I have a S&W clearsoft M3000 shotgun that shoots around 250 fps with .20
(poor man's chrono) and I want to upgrade its velocity cause in this case it really affects its range (as it does for most of the cheap guns). If some of you have ideas of wich spring I can use it would be very cool to answer. I also have problems with my hop-up that makes bb's curve to the right. In fact its a BAXS system but its kinda the same thing. I doubt that remplacement parts exists for these but still, if you know something that could work, tell me. Im also aware of any upgrades that could improve the performance of that cheap rifle. Durability is not a problem I will use it this summer and after that:GARBAGE or backup for my new AEG.

Try 0.25g, effective range increases with heavier ammo (to a point) even if the velocity decreases. Hey, if I can get kills past 100ft using my Glock 19 (around 300fps) shooting 0.36g BBs.............

and i use .25 for shooting, the .20 were just for the velocity test. in a noobish gun like that, the weight of the bb's, as I noticed, decrease the velocity ALOT and the range also.

Probably nothing. The gun isn't designed to take any upgrades, and any you put into it will probably break it.

This is based on my MP5, which is stock TM with a tightbore.

My Glock in hot weather nets me around 341fps, but most times I've chronied it it's sub 300fps, and have had great success using 0.36g and 0.43g BBs past 100ft, just a matter of aiming for the head and hitting the body, same as real steel at long ranges. And I always set my hop up a bit less than best on all my guns, increases consistancy at longer ranges and prevents the occasional overhop from the BBs hitting denser air pockets. You being a pilot should appreciate that tid bit of info. And, my MP5A5 is shooting around 300fps the past while, I still use 0.28g BBs outdoors and 0.25g indoors. |

There is a benefit to upgrading an AEG, but I've been seeing that there are drawbacks to having too high of a velocity that makes the BB too unstable and sensitive to the various air densities it's being forced to travel through. Check out my airsoft ballistics thread I started last night. I put it up for people to discuss, learn from, etc. Since I quit being a full time gun tech last fall, I'm focusing this year on studying the ballistics (and hey, I get free BB Bastards for test purposes and to use as "Stored Kills" on game day........... yes, I still buy most of my Bastards, but free ammo to test is always a great thing, especially when I get to post up the results and info for others to look at.) |

Maybe a little OT, but are you planning on doing tests in your study of low velocity guns (stock TM) shooting heavier rounds as well to see what kind of performance/degridation you get? That would be quite interesting.

So, later today I'll fuck around with the Stinger and see how consistant it is, and run all my little Bastards through it (can't do 0.28g though, have to get my two bags from Testicle next time I see him). |

that shotgun is in all reality, crap! i had 2 and broke 2, dont try taking it appart to get to the spring as i pretty much guarantee some small plastic part will break, the hop dosnt have replacement parts so you cant fix that. my suggestion, buy a good shotgun!

If you were able to access the piston and get some silicon oil onto the piston head, you could increase your velocity by a bit due to a better seal.
