Will an AK74 body fit on AK47s?
I get alot of inquiries about this, but will these Element Ak74 bodies fit on AK47s?

They do, but they will render the original AK47 pistol grip useless, as the 74 style bodies do not have the ferrule where the pistol grip area is on the 47 body. Luckily, this kit includes a 74 style pistol grip and as a bonus, a ribbed top cover.
Element bodies have alot of fitting issues with Kraken's, you'll have to file down the inside where the rear trunnion is to get it to fit. |

47 mags will still work but it won't be 100% correct as the real guns use different caliber rounds.
Might not matter to you though but it does to me. |

Funny how nobody seems to ever realize that the Element "AK-74" receiver is just as much an AKM receiver (7.62x39 cartridge). Thus nothing wrong with AK-47 magazines.

Not alot of people know about the AKM it's self.
But, it does indeed have a '74 style body but still takes the 7.62x39 mm round. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AKM Here

Would it not still have the 1974 stamped on it?

Oh, Ok. I read the Wikipedia as:
"Introduced into service with the Red Army in 1959" And assumed they meant the AKM. Then again even if I did read it correctly I don't have a whole lot of trust in any info on it. wtf did a post get deleted?

No, Not at all. It's an AK-74 receiver. Plain and simple.

If you want to put the battery in the stock, you'll need to rewire it to the rear or pick up a new trigger contact + wiring kit.
