KWA orange tip removal
Sorry if this is wrong section.
Hey just wanted to make a thread to help ppl when removing the KWA orange flash hider. I took everything out of the slide and soaked the orange tip in a bowl of nail polish remover for 10 mins. Then I used my finger nail to scrap off all the orange (pain/plastic) material off of the slide. However KWA doesnt paint under the orange black so unfortionatly you just have the aluminium underneath the orange and must paint. For my 1911 I went to Rona and found a paint match for Enamel. Then you need to tape off the whole slide including underneath so you dont get any paint inside to mess up the internals or gas flow. After do a light coat over the untaped area. I did 3 coats with 15 min in between untill the next coat. I found out I taped too close to the lines so it left a thin white line. That is my bad and I plan to redo it. Hope this helps, If you not looking at sanding the whole slide down and repainting it. -Rect- |
