C8 rifle build

hey guys, I need some help here. Im trying to turn my M4 into a Diemaco C8 carbine and I need the lower receiver to mount an AG-C grenade launcher on it, also if anyone is selling and Elcan that would be helpful too. here's a pic for reference:

picture is courtesy of http://ww.wikipedia.org

thanks all!

The pic you posted is of a Soldier/Police Officer of a European country that also uses the C8.

If you are going for a Canadian C8(I assume you are since you posted in the Canadian section) you don't need the Elcan. All the new C8s come standard with the EoTech 552. Some units also issue C79 Elcans aswell as the EoTechs. An we use the M203 not the grenade launcher you see in that picture.

Also the lower receiver has nothing to do with the grenade launcher. The grenade launcher is mounted on the upper receiver.

An a FYI the Canadian Military hasn't used thermold mags since the early 90s, we use the STANAG magazine(same as the US)

It does appear he might be wearing a dry suit, if that is the case it would be a bleeder valve.

my apologies, I meant the lower portion of the handguard. And how would that work with an Elcan AND an EOtech 552? I understand about the M203 but I already have an AG-C lying about and thought it would be much easier than buying and M203

I think he meant that some units are issued both optics, but use either one of these, not both, depending on their operational requirements.

Well if you're up for building the Dutch C8, you'll be hard pressed to ever find an AGC/UGL mount. The only chance you've got is to buy a surplus Dutch mount, and they don't surplus them...

Maybe take a trip to the Netherlands?

been there once, nice country. Just never thought to look for surplus mounts while I was there. Oh well, i'll try and make one custom unless there's an off chance we have an ex Netherland Marine here that decided to scrap the furniture off of his C8.....no one? no one? It was worth a try I suppose.

I built a C8 some time ago. Here's what you'll need

Army Code or Element C8 heavy barrel
XM-177 handguards
Element/Guarder metal receiver
Regular M4 stock (4 positions?)
Stock pad
Some OD krylon

If you're lucky to find BUIS and Triad from Diemaco that would be a nice touch. But these are kinda rare...

Diggin' his eyeliner.

I've never seen an HK manufactured launcher on an AR before. That's quite attractive.

If you want a great resource for building a current C8A2, this is a great page to check out;

http://www.casr.ca/101-rifle-c8fthb-carbine.htm

It's as authoritive a resource as you'll find on the public internet, period. Please please please pay special attention to the lack of a thermold mag!

KOS, you'll be seeing alot more of them, the M320 grenade launcher is being fielded to the 82nd airborne.
