Daniel Defence Barrel Nut
I just picked up a DD Lite Rail which uses the DD barrel nut in order to lock the outer barrel in place and hold the rail bracket in place as well. Only issue right now I have is that it's impossible to hand tighten all the way so that the barrel doesn't wobble.
Anyone know of any tricks to get this sucker on? Or if possible, any place I can order a DD Nut Wrench from in canada? |

The thread pitch is different depending on your gun make and the rail. I had to rethread the barrel nut to fit onto my PTW upper.

I had to re-rethread my upper back to fit. Other option is to use washers and spacers to shim the barrel into place and still lock the rail to your upper.

Hrm, well it almost fits down so the barrel is locked in place, like theres about 1/4 of a cm left before the nut would be flush with the barrel lip. I'm guessing its the whole imperial vs metric threading problem?
Googling this I found some old post here on ASC where someone suggested filing down some bit of the threading? EDIT: Problem solved, sorta. My G&G receiver works fine and takes the DD barrel nut on without any problems. The body I was trying to use it is probably a dboys (no actual brand markings on it besides the engravings) so pretty much I'm just going to have to swap bodies. Yay tearing apart and rebuilding two rifles tonight... Last edited by Loathing; August 18th, 2009 at 18:52.. |
