A normal V3 spring upgrade? Or is Real Sword different in some way?

get a prometheus MS100 and a MS110, put the 110 in, chronograph it... If it's around where you want it to be, be happy.

If it's too hot, put the MS100 in then chronograph it.

simple.

Thanks Amos I was looking for that info too. With that spring would you change out the hop up rubber to soft or keep the stock one in?

If it's the disassembly guide you're looking for, the gun comes with a large, full colour pictorial chart with detailed instructions on disassembly of the gun. For disassembly of the mechbox, go to www.mechbox.com and watch the video on the upgrade of an AK / V3 mechbox. The gun is different, but the mechbox will be the same.

As for the hopup, if you're upgrading to 400-ish fps, the stock one is fine.

Both of my Real Swords were 395 fps out of the box. The hop up was still a bit wonky even with the higher fps but a softer hop up rubber did the trick. I use .28 bb's as well.

Was this post necessary? Did you even read the OP's post? It asked for help with an existing gun, not where to get one.

Great, this answered all my questions. My Real Sword is out of the box also, so it must be stat 395 FPS as posted on the website. I'll have to buy a battery and test it out with a chrono

Guess thats why kids get the cansoft/battery/hicap deal, I know so many people who went through like 1000 bbs before they even shot a pop can.

Out of the box the Real Swords are ok to game. My all stock 56-1 took out 6 players with 7 shot's in a traitor game. All targets were at least 60 feet away and under 120 feet away so the accuracy decent. I recommend a heavy bb. .28's have worked fine. However, even with minimal hop up the bb's tend to fly upwards ridculously after a distance of 130 feet. The stock hop up rubber is very hard. Just swap in a softer one and things should improve considerably.

As a footnote, my understanding is that the majority of the Real Sword 56's that have made their way into Canada for 2009 shoot at the higher 395 fps. Once you get a battery and use your RS you'll know pretty much immediately if it's shooting 295 fps or 395 fps. You won't need a chrony. A pop can test will do.

I have seen a real sword 56-1 come out of the box chrono'ing at nearly 650 FPS, goes through the bottom of a sapporo beer can, and the top, and the sides of another can. Has anyone had any experience some wildly hot gun RS out of the box?

I thought that most RS 56 are shooting 450 ish out of the box.

I can only speak for my own 2 Real Swords. I have never seen any others. I chronied both of them running slightly hot with. 20's for the first 200 or so shots out of the box. They have been a steady 391 - 398 fps since then.

650 fps? That's a wee bit scary.
