Cutting AEG spring
My gun is shooting around 440, and i need it to be 350 or lower. I really can't buy a new spring soon and i needa use my gun in a upcoming event. I heard cutting the spring will work. so my question is how much do i cut off to get it down to 350 fps or lower.? Dont worry its not long term i just plan on using it for a event!

I would not suggest this. Why not just buy a new spring? You have to go into the Mechbox to cut it anyways.

No one can really tell you how much to cut since FPS depends on a lot of factors in your gun. It's trial and error with a chrono and that means opening the mechbox at least once (probably a lot more) so you might as well just buy a new spring. I'm sure there's a local player who could sell/loan you one. Even if you cut this one, you'll need to buy a new one to return your gun to the 440 FPS for later.

You cut it half coil at a time, then test it. Real pain in the ass, could mean you'd be disassembling/reassembling your gun up to a dozen times. And if you end up cutting the spring too short............... even by one coil, your gun won't work. Buy a Modify 90 spring from Jugglez (airsoftparts) and install it, it'll sit at 340fps or lower, and you only have to open up your mechbox once.

For one game? Cut your spring? For one Game?! I thought you said you can't buy a new one soon? So why risk ruining your only good one?
Really think this through man before you open the mechbox. Oh and if you are not mechanichally inclined (add the soldering or dremmel skills) then this may be a bad idea.

2. you can get one from eHobby for under $15 shipped 3. you're in the US (SoCal apparently), you probably have a walk-in shop near your place you can get one from if you're in a big hurry or try finding a used one locally, I bet a few people have a bunch of stock TM ones laying around.

If you're in the US as Drake says, you can walk into a place that sells airsoft and get the spring you need for $10.

If your in canada, Buy one from airsoftparts.ca as stalker said. He'll have it shipped out to you asap (never took him more than 24 hours from the time i payed to ship out something to me, and half the time within 12 hours) They also only cost about $10 there + $5-10 ish shipping.
