Contour H/D camera product review
Wow,I'm excited at purchasing a new camera! Got it at a good price as a co-worker upgraded to the newest version. Paid $250.00 for this lil Gem and here she is!
This camera is so user friendly it's unreal. Behind this quick release cover houses the battery, micro s/d card and a switch that allows you to go from hd to sd to save battery life and memory space. The on/off switch can be operated with gloves on! Watch for more of an indepth review after this sunday's game! |

First sound test with rifle mount. Does sound really loud but I'm in a small room so I imagine the sound is magnified slightly. actual in game footage will be taken on sun nov 8th.

I got one too, same model as you i think, the non-1080p
as much as i wanna record games at 135 degree 720p at 60frames/second and 15min/gb of memory... lol I think i'll stick to SD video at 60fps at 1hr/gb Looks awesome though, I'm getting warfighter tactical to prototype a mounting harness for it |

Not trying to threadjack, but I figured I'd post a video I shot with my ContourHD.
This is shot in standard def. with the cam mounted on my left-side helmet. The wind can be a bit much at times. YouTube- airsoft Nov 15 2009 building rush |

I haven't tried mine on standard def. I suppose with the files being much smaller in SD it would make editing alot easier,on the other hand it sure is nice being able to do my vids in HD. Actually it should be classified HD( ish ) simply because unless the footage is burned onto blu ray 25gb disks and providing you have a blu ray burner it's not true High Definition, but it's still high quality footage none the less!

FYI 60fps in SD is useless since it gets reformatted to 30fps when you do anything with it anyway.
Here's two scrims I shot this week, first one in SD, second one in HD Make sure you hit the HD button for the second one to get full quality YouTube- Frank Sniping YouTube- Nov 15 scrims It doesn't pick up sound very well since it's not really designed to, but the image is really good. I only wish it had a 3x zoom for when it's mounted on my sniper rifle, most of the time you can barely see what I'm shooting at! |

I have to agree that the footage is way cleaner and crisper in Hd rather than SD. After watching yourclips it's doubtful I'll even test the Sd feature. As for the sound, the newest version of these lil 4oz camera's has an adjustable mic, plus a few other features. For more sound you could always peel back the laser warning sticker on the bottom of the camera until the "pinhole" mic is revealed, havent tried that myself yet though. I did find that goggle mounting is better for sound rather than weapon mounting, plus I like it when the camera picks up some of the voice chatter on the radio's,well there's my 2 cents for now.

You're supposed to peel the sticker off...otherwise the mic doesn't pic as much up.
I agree with the SD thing. I shot SD this game because I shot HD the time before and I wanted to compare the two. I'll be sticking to HD from now on. If any of you are good with electronics, it's apparently easy to crack the sucker open, take the mic out and rewire it to the rear, which helps a lot with wind. |

OHHHHH I was wondering where the mic was on this thing lol
think I'll just peel it back and secure a piece of foam over it |

Read the ContourHD forums for tips and tricks. They're got a lot of good info there.

Thought I'd share another one. This one illustrates the auto-adjustment when switching between light and dark environments.

I have the HD, and use the SD mode because I tend to record a lot. I am not so good with video editing, but I will try to get some clips up next week when I am off (American holiday.)
I mount mine on the goggle strap, but it has to either be goggles on a helmet, or the strap on a paintball mask. Something solid underneath, as the goggle straps will flex with the unit. I have to be careful to aim it correctly. The first time I used it, I got good video of everyone's heads from their eyes up! All in all, I have to agree, it is an easy camera to use, even with gloves on. You also have to tape over the green "on" light at night, because it acted like a beacon last weekend. I don't have a sticker over my microphone hole, and it picks up sound well. |

It has the lasers in the lens so you can easily adjust it to look at what your looking at.
Clearly, I mount mine via a harness to my rifle lol |
