G36 Metal parts. Any available?

I recently acquired a CA G36C. While I'm quite happy with the gun for the most part, I'm a bit shocked at the amount of external plastic, since it's a CA.

I realize that the upper and lower receivers are plastic on the real steel. I'm referring to the upper rail, cocking lever, fake bolt catch, etc. Those are definitely NOT plastic on the real gun. Since CA generally pay a lot of attention to external details of their guns, I would have expected these parts to be metal as they should be, and not plastic like TM and other clones. Particularly the top rail, which I'm quite surprised to see is plastic. I would love to have them metal on my gun as on the real steel version.

I've searched around the usual suspect sites, but haven't found anything. I was wondering if these part (in metal) are available anywhere. If anyone knows if these parts are available and where I could acquire them, I would very much appreciate the assistance.

Thanks

For the upper rail I thought I read somewhere that the real deal is also made from fiber and has metal inserts on the bottom.

Ok. That's news to me then. Perhaps it doesn't need to be changed if that's the case. Would still love to replace the other parts I mentioned though.

The upper rail is made of fiberglass-nylon composite on the real steel and the airsoft version. It is reinforced with metal tho. I felt the same way about the cocking lever wich seems really flimsy in plastic, so I've replaced it with the CA metal version : http://airsoftglobal.com/product_inf...oducts_id=3851

At first I thought the ejection port was also plastic but by changing the cocking lever you'll see it is indeed metal.

Nothing much you can do about the bolt catch but the thing is so small and hidden, would you really pay something like 20$ to change it ?

Other than that, by changing the cocking lever, you'll be as close to the real steel as you can get ! Welcome to the world of modern composite firearms !

Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for. The bolt catch I can live with. If a steel one were available I'd be all over it like Michael Jackson on a troop of boy scouts, but I can deal with it.

No problem ! If you do indeed find a metal bolt catch that's not too pricy, let me know !

Will do. I've already ordered the cocking lever. If I find a bolt catch somewhere, perhaps I can order a pair of them to save on shipping and we can split the cost.
