Airsoft suppressor?

Now i know a lot of you might think this is a stupid question, that airsoft guns don't make very much noise. But i just wanted to see if anyone has come up with a way to suppress the sound signature? I've got it down the lining something on the outside of the gearbox, what do you guys think?

Airsoft Suppressors with the foam rings inside DO work and can actually reduce the sound a fair bit (tested in the field with a CA SCAR). It was harder to hear the suppressed shots around the field compared to not suppressed.

It will always sound loud to you since your ear is beside the gun when firing.

You can take something like a P90 or AUG and stuff the body with Dynamat, but yes in general a foam filled can will make a difference downrange (where it counts).

i use a silencer on all my guns that have a threading for one... when you are behind the gun it does not seems to not make a significant difference BUT when you are on the receiving end, you barely hear the shots only a muffled "pop pop pop" compared to the regular "TAK TAK TAK"

cant wait to get my TM p90 to test a silencer and sorbo pad on that thing

The suppressor is effective. Put a tight bore that sticks out 3/4 the length of the suppressor and it still is effective.

sorbo pad ...

thats a little donut-like pad that you put on you cylinder head in the place of the old rubber-like ring

its made from a special material that absorb the impact of the piston... it makes the gun SLIGHTLY silent... a suppressor will silence much better, but a sorbo pad also helps prevent a v.2 mechbox from cacking...

search it up on airsoftparts.ca

is it harmful to put on a silencer but not extend the inner barrel, especially with the hop up used? a friend of mine dented the silencer opening because bbs flying out werent perfectly straight

no, its not harmful

hop up will do nothing at that distance (6-8)" if the bb's were hitting the opening then it was because the silencer was not aligned with the barrel...

actually if you combine a sorbo piston and cylinder head, it silences really well. At least for me.
