Revolver Rifle
I came up with a stupid idea for a project gun recently...
The above is a Knight Armament's Silent Revolver Rifle, you can read more about it here: http://www.gods-inc.de/macavity/Isle...h/sr_Wr09.html (I may or may not have posted that link correctly). I was thinking of basing off of an KWC or some other "lower-priced" revolver more for the trial-and-error run of things. Thus, it'd be more of a wall hanger than anything else. Possibly, if a function prototype is made with a decent design, I might end up getting a Tanaka further down the road and building myself a game-worthy version (though I doubt I would ever game with any revolver). All in all, I was thinking of slapping a 250 mm mock suppressor, some sort of foregrip (MP5, G36C, etc) and M16-esque solid stock on a 6" revolver project base. A longer tightbore barrel and possibly a DIY highflow valve is a must, as I would hope to be able to shoot close to 300 fps with one of these (note: the KWC .357 is chronoed at around 260 fps using propane in the States somewhere). As I'd be limited to a ridiculously low capacity of BB's loaded at once, I would have to make my shots count - well, as much as possible with a wall hanger like this one - so a "decent" range and good accuracy are required. Anyone have any input on this concept? Or any jokes to be made about how retarded this idea is? I won't take offense if I get flamed; I myself feel like this is quite possibly the most useless project gun idea ever. It probably won't even be worth the money, effort or time that I'll throw into cobbling one together. |

Agreed, wholeheartedly. Its fugly and I highly doubt the RS was long lived at all, as I can't really find much else information about it... But... there's something in it that just makes me want to make/fire one of those.

with no bipod and a X1.5 scope, I'd use it it's quite nice, it would be like a shottie.
any tanaka would give you more than 12 rounds and they can be reloaded quite fast with a speed loader. the only thing with Tanaka is them being fragile, also revolvers are difficult to maintain because of no spare parts... are there tough revolvers out there ? who makes the strongest ones? something CO2 powered mounted like that would be evillll also

Oh, yeah. CO2-powered. Heck, since I'd have a buttstock attached, I could probably squeeze in a CO2 tank... Oh. But wait, that's borderline paintball, I'm not buying a cheap marker to dismantle and figure out how to attach a CO2 tank. (and thanks for the picture Jimski, that made my day)
Nooooo.... wait. What about a Madbull CO2 charger? I've got a surplus of 12g CO2 cartridges already. Could I charge up a KWC/HFC or something (I use those because I already see both listed for sale here on ASC) with CO2 and expect semi-decent results that won't blow a revolver into little plastic bits of shrapnel that will cut my throat and such? |

I have a cheap revolver I was tempted to mod a silencer onto and extend the inner barrel. But then someone broke it on me :<

someone's playing too much border lands revolver sniper. Would you like some Explosive bb's or lightening bb's damage with it?

Hahaha what's this border lands thing?
But, all right, I'm glad to see that I wouldn't look like a complete retard for attempting to build one. Reckless, its now on my "gotta build list" as well. Maybe when I've got plenty of free time, and then I won't be able to consider it time wasted. |

take a look at some older colts and such from the civil war. There was a colt revolving rifle, and a few others that would warrant a looking over.
