HELP!! Mounting M6 taclight onto M3/M6 taclight rail
I can't for the life of me figure out how to put my M6 taclight onto my VFC M3/M6 taclight rail!
I thought I would just press down on the button on the right side of the taclight and then slide the whole thing onto the rail, but the problem is the rectangular bar part that's suppose to lock into the slot on the rail is in the way of the rail. I'm probably just doing it completely wrong and is too dumb to see the obvious way to do it...

From my guess, I think you're not suppose to slide it on from front to back, but instead hook the right side of the light onto the rail where its supposed to go, then push up on the other so it kinda snaps in.

Is the bar and the slot supposed to have the same width? I am having difficulty snapping the bar into the slot. It seems the bar is a tiny bit wider than the slot. Are all these rails and attachments supposed to have a standard size?

Check out this video YouTube- QD Flashlight Laser sight Combo
This guy just slides the damn thing on while holding the button. Did I get the wrong rail for this or something? But I've seen the exact same combo (VFC M3/M6 rail + Star QD M6 light/laser) in a few pictures in the Media board...I don't get it!!! |

Can you pull UP on the flashlight tab (tab going TOWARDS the flashlight)?

Well you said there's a button...
You have to get that rail out of the way somehow to slide it on, and most devices have is slide out of the way towards the device to slip past the cutouts on the rail.

As you can see in the first picture of my opening post, the bar that's there is blocking the way and is in the neutral position. After pushing that button from the right side, the bar just goes further in. Did they just completely screw up on the design there, or is this device used for an extremely specific type of rail....?

If worst comes to worst you could take a dremel tool and use the grinder attachment to grind it down but that should really be the last option since none of us are sure on how it's supposed to mount anyways. That thing that's blocking it could be an essential piece to ensure proper operation or it could be nothing at all.
It appears to me however that the light should just snap on, no need to slide it down or anything. Either that or it's for some weird proprietary rail.

It's weird how the guy just slides it on easy in that video though. If it were a "snap-on", the guy would've done that. Plus I tried that, and apparently that bar is too wide for the slot on the rail.
I've sent an email to UNComany asking if there are any instructions. Hopefully they'll reply with something. |

um... stupid question is this a real m6?
try this: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sourc...F8vKOGnIbGgOUw my m6 slides onto any rail no problem. Make sure you are pulling down on the latch bar. If you can't get the mount onto the rail, possible that the rail is off spec, i've had some problems mounting my m6 onto some guns.

also did you by chance buy the USP compact version of the vfc rail? the last time I heard of issues mounting lights on USP rail adapter that was the guys problem.

Nope this is not the real M6.
And it is very different. The reason you're able to just slip the thing on so easily is because that part 4 in the manual there on page 9 is removable (I'm guessing you push the slide back through after the light is slid into place onto the rail). Long description short, to imagine what mine is like, just think of that part 4 as non-removable and is already pushed half way through, and you can use your thumb to push it further in. The awesome thing is, you can't slide the thing onto the rail because that damn non-removable part 4 is in the damn way!!!  I'm just gonna cut out that damn little bar there (I don't have a dremel... )...it's the only way it'll fit.

You need to file a small amount off the tang so it will clear the rail. Once in place push in on the slide to lock it in. Some rails have a little too much material and makes difficult for mounting accessories.
