Upgrades/Mods for my Classic Army Sportline M15A4

I do not plan on buying any upgrades or mods for a little while yet, as I still need to start buying some batteries, extra mags and other essentials.
But I would like to start seeing what kind of upgrades and mods I can add to this gun to make it my own unique weapon of destruction.
As I do not know to much at the moment about what mods will or will not fit on to my model of gun.
I do not have the metal bodied gun, it is the hardened durable plastic, but I do plan on upgrading to a metal body, as I want to get some experience on the field first before I buy a metal body gun.

and yes...I also do plan on fixing up that orange thing on the end :P

In terms of comfort and usability, what about pistol grip, stock and rail units?

They are all fairly easy upgrades that will really change up the feel.

Internally, a tightbore barrel will help accuracy, a new spring will help you reach the desired FPS.

ANd then theres the gearbox. I am afraid of those things so I'll let someone else explain them =P

With any AR model, let your imagination fly.

You could get:
Flashlight
Scopes
Front Grips
Rail systems
Silencers
Grenade launcher
Rail covers
PEQ
Iron sights
Hand grips
Stocks
Magazines*limited* Such as Pmags, or VN mags
Slings
All Internals
....

The list goes on and on, just think of something, and most likely it will fit. Although, for most items, you would want a Metal RIS front end, that way to can attach the things you buy, haha

DO NOT WASTE ANY MONEY ON EXTERNALS

Save the externals for when you go to upgrade to a higher quality gun, doing a full metal build off of a CA sport line gun is extremely costly, and if you go on the cheap side of things you'll only end up with a low quality piece of garbage.

The difference in internal quality between a Sportline and a Proline is HUGE. The Sportlines are made to be what they are, Cheap and disposable.

Save up, Buy a full metal CA Pro-line and upgrade that.

For this gun I would recommend;

Prometheus 6.03 barrel in 363mm length
Prometheus Neo Strike Hop-up Chamber (full kit)
extra Hop-up controls (brand isn't really important)
Quality hop-up rubber (Firefly Soft/Medium, Prometheus soft +SCS, Guarder clear +SCS)

Keep your stock barrel and hop-up unit, so when you get a pro-line you can drop the barrel and hop-up combo into the new gun and put the old one into your sport line.

I would keep the sport line for indoor play (sub 350 FPS on .2gram BB) and spend the money on proper upgrades for the CA pro-line.

Buy extra batteries and mags. Maybe even a different sight but try different ones, I haven't found a optical sight better then my regular AR rabbit hole sights.

Do not invest in internals yet unless it's broke as my friends would say, I do believe in cleaning grease and shimming the gears.

Internally, if you don't know what you should upgrade, you shouldn't really be upgrading. Use the gun first.

Don't really have anything in mind just yet. Just working on mental images, and seeing whats out there for add ons.
Also, another question....
I do not have a handgun or anything yet, but for things like Beretta airsoft guns....Is there addons too for those?

I agree with Amos. If you want the best performing rifle you can, start with quality. Even if you replace 50% of the parts, you can sell them. Also, play with your gun, and you'll find what you need to improve on it pretty quickly. If you have the money, go for externals too, but focus on the internals first when you find its time.

No point in a pretty gun, that cant shoot.

As for a secondary, dont get one right away. Get your Primary how you want it, your necessities, like mags, battery first. But in regards to your question, for a beretta:

Silencer
Flashlight/Laser( Not 100% sure, so dont quote me)
But internally wise, almost as much as an AEG!

I do know that for my handgun, the only add on I would have is a red dot laser thing like the swat dudes have. *drools*

G, it's venture here. I see you are really jumping into our hobby with both feet. Being as you live just down the road, we should meet up at Tim Horton's or something. I can answer all these questions you are asking.

I agree with amos, you shouldn't spend too much on that gun just now. Cleaning, regrease and reshim possibly. I'll explain why later, I am on the Atlantic ocean right now-the magic of Globalstar satellites!! and 9600 baud dial-up.

Wait about 1 season before you upgrade the gun and as far as sights go play around with some of the ones you see at a game, ask to hold there gun and since many use m4 style guns the different optics and sights will translate better to your own gun. I've used many different types, and have found on my m4 that a flip up rear sight, and a reflex red dot work best.

Externally I have a KAC RIS, PEQ, flashlight, KAC foregrip. I've more or less replicated a Block 1 SEALs CQBr.

I recommend the wait and see attitude. I had a M16A2 for my first season. I got it in my head I wanted a SPR. I found out quickly why people use M4's and MP5's. Now I have a TM MP5SD6 and I love it. Lighter, more compact and easy to handle. You may discover you hate armalites and want some other gun after you play with it a bit.

I would actually leave that CA sportline stock. It's almost not worth it to upgrade a sportline. Leave it stock for indoor games and get a higher end quality gun to build a decent outdoor weapon. If you are on a budget and you must upgrade this gun, then I would upgrade the hop-up as Amos said. I don't think a tightbore barrel is neccessary. Internally, that gun could use some new metal bushings, a bearing spring guide, and a more powerful spring.

Externally, anything you add to it would just be for accessories (sights, RIS, etc.) to your preference. If you wanted a full metal gun, it would have been better to buy one in the first place than to hope to upgrade the plastic body in the future.

Play some games and look at other people's guns. That's the easiest way to figure out exactly what kind of a look you want or if the accessories match your playing style.

I have the same gun. The only thing I've ever done to it was a Handgaurd rail and scope mount from dealextreme, plus a 300rd hi cap from ASGI
