Customizing my M4
OK, I bought the King Arms 4" Free Floating Forearm Rail System w/ Barrel

I noe need a 141mm inner barrel - OK a noob problem, the next thing is where is my battery supposed to go now? An external Bag? Anyone build the puppy in the pic? Any helpful tips? Tks. |

You can wire to the back or up front and use a PEQ.
options for wiring at the back: -Use a lipo (fits in buffer tube..does not require crane stock or anything) -crane stock (a stock that fits a battery.. G&P, dboys, CA etc.) -I personally use a CTR stock(but you can use what ever kind of retractable stock as long as it has a hole at the back) I cut a small hole on the side and run a wire through there..attach a magazine pouch onto the stock and house the battery(large type) inside a magazine shell. Here's a link to how you do it. I love this configuration. This guy did the same as well http://www.freewebs.com/nrgmechanics...tockwiring.htm Options for wiring up front: -PEQ/PEQ15 type of battery box (small type battery only for wiring at the front) -lipo that fits inside the RAS but you use a KA free float so this may not work so well For you specific configuration, if you want to wire at the front, i would use a peq15 battery box. But i would highly recommend going with wiring at the back. If your m4 is already then you're good to go! Just follow the instructions on the link! Hope this helps. but a lipo does wear your internals faster right? I'm pretty sure a 7.4v wouldn't but it'll have trouble pulling a spring in a gun thats over 350FPS

No 7.4v lipo will not have trouble if it is a quality battery. Go to your nearest hobby store and get a charger and lipo as they will have good quality products.

I say 7.4v lipo in a PEQ15, and maybe consider a tank (wire) stock =D
Or you can shove some 8.4 minis into a PEQ2 |

Remember all the rules with LiPo safety. And a 7.4v 20C 1600mah LiPo will give you the same ROF as a 9.6v 1500mah NIMH +1 on the AN/PEQ-15, they're fantastic. Not only do they look cool but you have room for a 1600mah LiPo, triggermaster, and PCB |

for 7.4v lipo batt. Does it last longer than a normal batter(9.6v?)? Can it power my 390+FPS rifle? Because i'm getting mixed responses(some yes some no)

yes it can run fine... I ran my 400fps build on a 7.2v nicd before... But it completely depends on stuff like the mah rating of your 9.6, it should last a while though.

He's not talking about a NiCd or NIMH, both of which have NOTHING to do with how a LiPo performs.
The answer to your question is YES, without a shadow of a doubt. Case and point - my rifle was 400fps and I was running it with a 7.4v 15C 1600mah LiPo With NiMH batteries, they inherently can't supply all the amperage that is needed to run an AEG motor, so to make our guns faster we increase the voltage. With a LiPo, all the amperage you need is already there, so you can have the same rate of fire with less voltage. LiPo batts also have a higher energy density than NiMH, which means more Mah in the same amount of space. They're also (in some cases) significantly less expensive 8.4v 5000mah elite battery - ~$100 11.1v 5900mah 20C LiPo - ~$40 As for drain, it's a matter of the math. Either way it's not significantly different from a NiMH, and again, you can have more Mah with a LiPo in the same space a NiMH battery fills. If you opt for a simple mosfet switch instead of a triggermaster, you might even be able to find a 7.4v 2200mah LiPo that fits in an AN/PEQ-15, and that would definitely last longer than a 1500mah NiMH |
