Leaking TM 5.1 Mag

As the title says I have a leaking mag. It is leaking at the top corner of the baseplate. I saw one say that he took the base plate off and wrapped the bottom with teflon tape, also I saw someone tell someone to tighten a screw in the bottom.

I bought this gun a couple of months ago, and i've fired a few mags after I got it but then I got my fix and then I haven't used them for a few weeks, so my conclusion was that I didn't have enough gas in there to keep the seals from drying out(after the mag was empty I put a quick shot of gas).

What would you recomment I try first?

In case I didn't make it too clear of where it is leaking, in this picture is the mag and my finger is pointing to the area. It is a bad picture but facing the camera is the bb chamber and the bottom of the mag is at the top.

Put a drop of silicone oil on the fill valve, give it a little shot of gas (like 0.5-1sec). Repeat 2-3 times. It's ok if the gas is leaking out...it'll be driving oil right to the seal.

Let it do that a bit.

Take the base plate off the mag, there will be a + screw on the bottom. Tighten that. Don't go Hulk on it, just tight. You might/should hear the gas stop leaking....if so, you're good to go and be sure to use a bit of oil in your gas.

(most green gas cans have oil added.....if you're using a propane camping bottle it does not)

All I've ever needed to do to fix a leaky TM Hicapa mag (which doesn't happen often) is to tighten the baseplate screw. Leak stops.

TM mags are awesome.
