That part breaks all the time, i fixed three AK's with the same problem already.. your best bet is to get the steel upgrade kit.

You'd prolly have to msg WE since the gun is so new. But you could re-thread for a larger screw couldn't you?

Not sure but possibly fill with JB weld and use a screw with less threads, not sure if it'll work but probably worth a go if its scrapped anyways.

just got the RA trigger set and installed in my ak74, so disappointed on ra-tech this time. this upgrade parts are out of spec on the trigger and the sear. they'll work but not smooth enough. I spent 2 hours to modify them to make them run smoother. ra parts on m4 are way better.
difference between two AK Sear, top-org, bottom-RA difference between two AK trigger, left-org, right-RA

I've got a WE AK PMC coming in the mail. How fragile is the stock trigger group? Just curious if I should be wary of plinking with the thing. Haha.
Also, curious. Is there a chance you can buy the steel set pre-assembled? |

They are not Fragile.. they are in my opinion designed to fail.. so that RA-Tech can sell the steel replacements. It's a little suspect to see the gun and the steel replacement parts released virtually at the same time... the cost of this gun is .. Stock from WE Plus the RA-tech steel trigger group. The install is not difficult but you do need to pay attention when you take the original out to ensure you put the various springs back in correctly. seems like come people are having issues with out of Spec parts from RA-Tech.. mine was flawless .. and works really well.

I would advise to not shoot it much and switch the parts out for RA tech ASAP, I got unlucky and while firing bbs through it a sear snapped caused the gun to misfire and broke the firing pin and the nozzle where it feeds the bb in.

In response to Nforce, yes, they are made severely out of spec, however, as with Brian McIlmoyle, the trigger set works flawlessy for me as well after some fine tuning. The trigger set didn't need any wearing in for me, it works perfectly after proper installation and greasing. The biggest flaw is the rear of the sear not having sufficient contact with the fire lever which causes the gun to fire full auto on semi due to minimal contact and vibration of the gun...this is further exacerbated since the selector plate is slightly thinner than the stock counterpart which makes it worst. Also, the other flaw is the grub screw hole in the fire selector lever... the extra room in the hole will cause the selector plate to become loose and rotate during firing, especially given the recoil of the gun... Here it is:

you can see how bad it is!! top is org, bottom is ratech.
that's why (the pic from turok_t) you can see the sear moves forward a bit(it's not shorter). that's causing problem when you shoot in semi, pull and hold the trigger, during bolt carrier travel back, pushing hammer back at the same time and hit the sear in exceeding pressure. form time to time it could break the hammer.

If you compare the the rear of the sear, it is much shorter on the RATech compared to stock..its not because its moved forward, i compared just the sear side by side and the length that prutrudes out is insufficient for the selector lever to hold down. There is no issue on SEMI, its only in AUTO that creates the issue since the contact between the selector lever and the rear portion of the sear does have not have good contact.

no matter what, we are here to fix up ra-tech problems but got no pay, lol.
my bottom line is, as I'm an end-user for those gbbr, I use my feel, touch and seeing to make my modify for practical shooting. gbb and me are in one. so it has to be working smooth and efficiency. regular game may not need this requirement or standard. I'm just a bit too picky.
